Life Is Stressful To Begin With For College Age Students
Life is stressful to begin with for college age students in particular often find themselves having to adjust to their new lifestyle with would make them perceive like they have move stress. A literature search on the database PSYC info using keywords such as stress, college students, and Since this is the first time they have been away from home and they are now responsible for every part of their lives for the first-time balancing lives necessities for them can be a very stressful time for them. Extracurricular activities are offered on every single college campus around the world and these extracurricular activities can be associated with sports, singing, dancing, yoga, Greek Life, etc. There have been few studies that try to show aâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦As well as letting them know if starting to participate in extracurricular activities will make them a happier and relaxed person. The variables in our study are Stress, Extracurricular Activities, and Social Satisfaction. Stress is defined as a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances. Social Satisfaction is when someone has enough social stimulation in their active life as to where they donââ¬â¢t feel like they have as much stress. Social satisfaction could also have effects on the studentsââ¬â¢ academic performance as well. Extracurricular activities are activities that do not fall within the scope of a regular curriculum while carrying no kind of academic credit. This would-be sports teams, clubs, and Greek Fraternities or Sororities. Literature Review Extracurricular Activities Nancy Darling (2016) explains that students that participate in extracurricular activities tend to be in an environment where they will have much more social experience, as well as have much more interaction with their peers. She notes that the students that participate in the activities tend to say that they have lower levels of stress and tend to have high life satisfaction due to the activities that they are doing the activity.
